Well…it has been some time after the election. If not mistaken, I think most of us are happy with the result as I am and some of us still cannot believe that we have made it happen. Whatsoever, we as a nation have proved that we can choose or trash a government. We used democracy to the tremendous. The “Makkal Sathi” synergy has been ignited by HINDRAF. Now everyone is brave enough to voice out his or her disgruntlements. It’s a big achievement by Malaysian Indians. Everything seems to be going on the right track. However, what are our goals in common? A friend of mine has written an article on his thoughts, which is to be read and ponder upon by every Malaysian Indian. This press conference is actually addressed to our PM who has mentioned that the plunge in support for the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition in the recent general election was a strong reminder to the government that it had not fulfilled its reform pledges. He agrees finally. Pak Lah also pledged that in his second-term as prime minister, there will be a “bold agenda” to fulfill the people’s concerns. HINDRAF has made its demand on behalf of every Indian in Malaysia through this press conference. Lets see whether he’s open to receive our demands or not. Time will tell.

Re: (1) Demolished Hindu Temple in Kg. Rimba Jaya, Kg. Karupiah, Kg Jawa Shah Alam was catalyst for Hindraf Peaceful Assembly on 25/11/2007 which led to 90% of Indians voting for Opposition in the March 8th General Elections.

(2) PKR led Selangor State government has not properly rewarded Selangor Indians by merely repeating the 10,000 sq feet land and RM 40,000.00 promised by the previous UMNO led government.

With respect to the above mentioned matter we are disappointed at the mere reputation of what the previous UMNO government had previously already promised. (Tamil Nesan 18/03/08 pg 3). May we bring to your kind attention that it was the demolishment of this Temple that eventually led to 90% of the Indians in Malaysia voting for the Oppositions and as abovementioned. We hereby appeal that this Hindu Temple is retained at the existing and present site by the PKR led state government compulsorily acquiring the land (CPO) and awarding the same to the said Temple. This Hindu Temple is the heritage of the people of Kg Karupiah and means a lot to them.

Chennai, March 24 : Malaysia’s interest in signing an agreement with India to protect Indian workers is a diversionary tactic intended to keep the latter quiet on the rights of Malaysians of Indian origin, a leader of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) said here Monday.

“Such an MoU (memorandum of understanding) protecting just the Indian workers’ rights will effectively silence the government of India on the issue of rights of Malaysians of Indian origin,” said Hindraf leader P. Waytha Moorthy.

“There are workers of all nationalities in Malaysia and the country has enough laws to protect foreign workers. An MoU with India will only create discrimination between foreign workers in Malaysia.”
