MakalVoice is Back In Action

Phew…I’m back in action at last. Many of you may be wondering, what the hack is happening and why there are no updates in MakalVoice for the past one week. Well, I met an accident and was admitted for the past one week. That is the reason. Nothing to worry, I’m ok…just had minor bruises on my face, shoulder, hand and leg. Thank god no fracture. Had six stitches on my left leg, just below my knee. That is the major wound I had. It happened when I was on my way to Penang Island from Butterworth. The traffic light was green, I pass by the “simpang empat” near Kampong Nyiok, Butterworth and a car just came furiously from the other junction who supposes to stop since the traffic light is showing red. Thank god, I could manage to take control of my bike steer clear of the car and hit a nearby divider. My injury was slight only because I hit the divider. I dare not imagine what could have happen if the car had knocked me. It all happens in split seconds. What I know was a car coming on to hit me and I had to avoid. The next thing…I was struggling to get up from the road. Then only I noticed blood here and there and some pain on certain parts of my body. I was able to get up, push my bike to the roadside and sit there. The only thing I could do on that moment was thanking Lord Sri Krishna. I did it and I mean it. He has prevented me from getting into a major accident. That is all I could think of.

Indian Martial Arts

dws_time_krishna-arjuna.jpgThe Indian subcontinent is home to a variety of martial arts. Dhanurveda (from dhanus “bow” and veda “knowledge”) is the term for the “science of archery” in Puranic literature, later applied to martial arts in general.

Martial arts of the Indian subcontinent are diverse in nature and have origins of different times from various different regions. Some of the older traditions include the organized martial systems practiced by the Kshatriya warrior caste of Hinduism. These systems include armed and unarmed combat, and aspects such as meditation and mental conditioning.

Jaganath Misra Feast

Sorry for not publishing any updates yesterday. I was tight up with few things. Ok, as I have promised, attached below are the photos of Jaganath Misra feast festival. It is actually a day after the Gaura Purnima which falls on Saturday, where the father of Gauranga Mahaprabhu who is Jaganath Misra will give a feast to his fellow villagers. Therefore, we had a wonderful procession whereby the lordships were carried through a palanquin to Hong Seng Estate, which is in Waterfalls, Penang. Around 70 devotees were following the palanquin. They were chanting, singing the holy names of the Lord and dancing in ecstasy. It was nice to see those devotees acting as such to make the lordship happy. You should have been with us. After the procession, we had a massive kirtan (singing songs praising the lord and dancing in devotion for him) in the Penang Centre, followed by delicious prasadham (sanctified food). Emmm…yummy… The photos bellow will tell the stories.
