Malaysian Indian Medical Students – Victimised by UMNO

Racist UMNO deliberately victimizing thousands of Malaysian Indian Medical students from practicing in Malaysia with the deliberate intention of reducing the number of Malaysian Indian doctors in Malaysia. UMNO rather give the medical postings to foreigners than Malaysian Indians. The NST 30/05/08 pg 24 news report, letter to the editor proves this.

There are a number of foreign doctors (mostly from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and India) (presumably Muslims) from unrecognised Universities who are working in rural areas and university hospitals with the blessings of the health ministry. They do not have to sit for examinations to be registered and are given annual practicing certificates for up to three years. This is unfair as Malaysian doctors from unrecognised Universities have to sit exams. Why not employ them instead? Foreign doctors are also given places in the Master’s courses in public universities such as University Malaya and University Kebangsaan Malaysia when our own doctors are not given such privileges.

These foreign doctors are then given registration and annual practicing certificates so that they can undergo these courses and perform surgeries and procedures on patients. Isn’t it ridiculous that our own doctors from the same unrecognised universities are not allowed to do so? These foreign doctors then do locum in private hospitals and clinics and are therefore practically earning a living and studying at the same time while local doctors have to sit exams, do houseman ship and then work for the government for three years in order to apply for masters course. Foreign students are readily accepted into the medical courses in public universities.

Disability not an Encumbrance to Academic Success

Top STPM and MUET 2007 scores posing with their Award of Honor from Malaysian Examinations Council. They are not normal as us. I will call them as super beings. The girl on the left is a Tamil Girl. The Sikh youth on the right is Arvinder Singh of Selayang. They made it through defeating the odds, managed to be champions not only of themselves, but also as a whole of entire community. I have the guts to say that they are the role model of our younger generation. They can effortlessly be positioned better than many of those others who assert themselves as being ’sidelined’ and not scoring in their studies.

Be Proud of This Indian Student

saravanan.jpgWhen so many students can give excuse for not doing well in government examinations, this 21-year-old Indian student, who suffers from cerebral palsy and was abandoned as a child, had defied the odds to emerge one of the three physically challenged students to be applauded by the Malaysian Examinations Council for his Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination results.

S. Saravanan, who is a science student, scored 2A’s and 3B+’s in the recent STPM examination. He delights his caretakes at Kamakshi Child Home, his teachers and friends at SMJK Chio Min in Kulim with such result.

Indian Neglected by the Government - True Story

Dear readers, this is an email from a guy by the name of Kumaran who has been neglected by the government. He’s from Sungai Siput. The place which we used to call as Uncle Sam’s territory. Lets see whether our uncle can help or not. He has contacted me and request to post his story on MakalVoice. Please comment your suggestions.

Hi, thanks for your reply. This is the mail that i sent to Prime minister department, Perak State education department and to some opposition parties. Hope to get some response. Here is another true story that shows how much care existing government has on Indians.
I am a graduate from UTM. I applied for KPLI and failed to get. In order to have high chance in next intake i was informed to be a temporary teacher. According to head masters in two Tamil schools in Sungai Siput they are waiting for PPD to send teachers. But when I contacted PPD Kuala Kangsar on 26th February, I was told that there are many schools in Perak facing shortage of teachers. But PPD have the limited quota (3 for Kuala Kangsar) for the teachers for Tamil schools. NO additional teachers will be hired though the shortage is at alarming stage. I further questioned the officer there, and was told that the schools need to wait till next year so that another 3 more teachers will be hired or need to wait for application from teachers to be transferred to this area. WHAT will happen if NO ONE applied? TAMIL schools need to face shortage of teachers throughout the year? WHY no one in Education Ministry take any action?
