Mudhalvan Style Interview - BBC Hardtalk with Tun Dr Mahathir

Asked to comment about the Hindraf rally last December that Sackur described as
a consequence of racial imbalances set in stone by Dr Mahathir, the former PM
tried to deflect the attack.

“Why now?” Dr Mahathir asked, to which the show’s host responded pokerfaced:
“Because people who disagreed with you during your time ended up in jail.”

As what makkez says in his blog…guys, this really reminds me of the interview between late Raghuvaran and Arjun in tamil movie titled Mudhalvan. So for those who’ve missed the interview which aired in BBC Hardtalk recently, have a glance now.

Samy Wants HINDRAF ISA Detainees to be Released

Sorry for not updating my blog for the past few days. I was in training and I had limited time accessing the net. Furthermore, I was worn out after the trainings. That made me not to do anything with MakalVoice. Hope you people are passable with that. Well, when I returned to work, I went through all my mails and the mail titled “Samy mahu anggota Hindraf tahanan ISA dibebas” as below disenchanted me. Not only with Uncle Sam who is trying to play a Drama out of the blue, but with Utusan Malaysia with the way they wrote the article. It sounds like they do not know anything about HINDRAF 5 when the whole world is crying for their release. Read and give your opinion. The bolded lines are my personal comment.

Uncle Sam Surrenders at last

samymic.gifAt last, our MIC chief Uncle Sam has made a gentlemen statement that he’s not going to offer himself to accept any cabinet post in Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s new administration. He also mentioned that he would not return to the Cabinet by seeking a senatorship title.

It is learnt that he has submitted the names of the three MIC parliamentarians - Dr S Subramaniam (party secretary general and Segamat MP), K Devamany (central working committee member and Cameron Highlands MP) and M Saravanan (party information chief and Tapah MP).

New face Saravanan, also the Federal Territory MIC chief, is seen as a favourite to be offered a minister’s post.

Most Indians in Malaysia were celebrating while Uncle Sam suffered a very humiliating loss on the recent election. They were even merrier when other candidates of MIC were being casualties on the heavy defeats in the midst of a swing among the voters, which resulted opposition new comers to win unprecedented number of seats in parliament and DUN.

Equal Power Sharing in Penang

pramasamy.jpgDAP’s Perai representative P Ramasamy who was an ex UKM lecturer and PKR’s Penanti state assemblyperson Muhammad Fairuz Khairuddin has been appointed as Penang’s Deputy CM’s by our new Cheif Minister Lim Guan Eng today.

Both of them will hold the post as:
Deputy CM 1 - Muhammad Fairuz Khairuddin
Deputy CM 2 - P Ramasamy.

This is the first time for an Indian to hold such a high rank in state government since Merdeka. Barisan National, which is controlled by UMNO, has never gave such representation to ethnic minorities other than having only one Indian at the Federal Cabinet Ministerial Level. According to our new Penang CM, the decision was made as such is to have an equal representation of leadership to all communities in Penang. What a statement…hats off to him. This is what the people were anticipating for and it is taking place. It is time for them to be established and I respect their first steps.
