HINDRAF - Malaysian Home Minister lied on Waythamoorthy’s Passport
PRESS STATEMENT 18TH MAY 2008
RE: My International Passport valid until year 2010
Home Minister lied to cover up the bungle of Government
Click on the image to see Waythamoorthy’s Passport. The Statement by the Malaysian Home Minister that the Malaysian Government has not revoked my passport is absolutely ridiculous, a blatant lie and as usual meant to mislead the public especially when they realised the bungle and blunder they had done.
I am indeed surprised that the senior Cabinet Minister would issue a statement based on probabilities without verifying the facts that the “probable reason was because my passport had expired”.
I was given a fresh leave to enter and remain in the United Kingdom for 6 months on 2nd April 2008 upon my return from India. It is a known fact that no country would admit a person into its territory without a 6 months validity period on the passport. For the matter Switzerland wouldn’t have admitted me into its country on the 17th April 2008 nor would any airline allow me to board the flight without a 6 months validity.
The allegation against Amnesty International that they did not check their facts before making a statement is wild and absurd. I was informed about the revocation of my passport by the British Immigration authorities at Gatwick Airport on the 21st April 2008.
I am holding a Malaysian passport valid until year 2010 and it is obvious my travelling to lobby for the HINDRAF and the ethnic minority Indian community had caused the Malaysian government to revoke it to curtail my movement and to compel UK to deport me back to Malaysia and to compel UK to deport me back to Malaysiaand to compel UK to deport me to Malaysia so that I too would be arrested under the draconian Internal Security Act.
The fact remains that the Malaysian government had revoked my passport and my struggle for the Malaysian Indians will continue.
