MakalVoice is Back In Action

Phew…I’m back in action at last. Many of you may be wondering, what the hack is happening and why there are no updates in MakalVoice for the past one week. Well, I met an accident and was admitted for the past one week. That is the reason. Nothing to worry, I’m ok…just had minor bruises on my face, shoulder, hand and leg. Thank god no fracture. Had six stitches on my left leg, just below my knee. That is the major wound I had. It happened when I was on my way to Penang Island from Butterworth. The traffic light was green, I pass by the “simpang empat” near Kampong Nyiok, Butterworth and a car just came furiously from the other junction who supposes to stop since the traffic light is showing red. Thank god, I could manage to take control of my bike steer clear of the car and hit a nearby divider. My injury was slight only because I hit the divider. I dare not imagine what could have happen if the car had knocked me. It all happens in split seconds. What I know was a car coming on to hit me and I had to avoid. The next thing…I was struggling to get up from the road. Then only I noticed blood here and there and some pain on certain parts of my body. I was able to get up, push my bike to the roadside and sit there. The only thing I could do on that moment was thanking Lord Sri Krishna. I did it and I mean it. He has prevented me from getting into a major accident. That is all I could think of.

Few motorcyclist stop by to render help. They called the ambulance coz I was not able even to stand by then. Blood were flowing from my head. My face, shoulder and leg was swollen by that time. They just ordered me to lie down. However, I just lie down for a moment, got up, and called my nearby friends to take my bike to their home. While waiting for my friends and the ambulance, I was just observing on the wound on my leg. It was quite serious actually, a big hole with flesh hanging out. You know what I did; I just took out my mobile and took few shots of the wound. I was smiling to myself. I dare not post the pictures here. You may go insane with me if I do that.

Just a while after my friends arrived, everyone heard the siren of an ambulance. The ambulance manages to spot us and came to the place where we were. The medical representative took out the stretcher, put me on it, get me in the ambulance, turn on the siren and head towards Hospital Seberang Jaya. Just after they turn on the siren, I dunno why, but I felt one kind. It was a combination of feelings like fearful, afraid, panic and so on. I can’t really describe it. I just closed my eyes and started to chant the holy name of Krishna. I opened my eyes once they turned off the siren. I know they were in Hospital compound. They stopped the ambulance, get me out of it, and push me to the emergency ward.

After a while, a doctor came and approached me. She was an Indian lady doctor. She was very fair and beautiful. She looked through me from head to toe. She told me to lift my hand and ask me whether I could sit or not. I tried to sit but I could not do it alone. She came in to support me from the back. By that time I was smiling to myself again. It was like a Tamil movie where usually a guy will support a girl but in my case it was the other way round. Furthermore, love will blossom after this kind of incident in the movies. No worries, nothing happened in my case. While she was supporting me, I could not do much, I just looked her beautiful face and glanced her nametag. Beautiful woman with a beautiful name. I can’t mention it here. I dun wanna exploit her. No worries, love all never blossom here. She was just doing her job to the best and I appreciate it. Then she just instructs the medical offices on what to do. They gave me two jabs on by buttocks and one of it was painkiller. Then they took me to get the x-ray shots of my leg and shoulder to confirm whether I have fractured or not. Once came back, she told me that there is no fracture. She then told that a minor surgery needs to be done on my leg. I got worried and inquired, and she told me that there is a big cut and it could infect the bone. Therefore, they need to clean deep in and stitch it. Then something struck my mind, I just told her that I got a medical card and is it possible to go to other hospital since it will be convenient to other people to visit me. The real reason is that I’m afraid to do it in the government hospital. I’ve heard lots of unsuccessful cases form government hospitals and I don’t want to take the risk. She just ordered me do to so and mentioned that the hospitality there will be better than here. I asked her on how to go bout it. Then she asked where I prefer to go and I mentioned Lam Wah Ee since I’ve been admitted there previously. She passes me their number and asked me to call them and explain the situation. I did as she mentioned. Then some reps from Lam Wah Ee called her to check on my situation. They had a conversation and Lam Wah Ee agreed to send their ambulance to take me there. Half an hour pass by and Lam Wah Ee’s ambulance arrived. So, from there, I was brought to Lam Wah Ee and they did all the other things that need to be done. I was admitted there since last Friday, which is from 9/10/08. I was discharged yesterday evening but still on MC. I’ll resume to work on 26th of this month. If anyone feel sad for me, just pray for my fast recovery. Hehe.

The two lessons learnt from this incident are:

1. Please be cautious even if the traffic light is showing green.
2. Get a medical card; after all, you’re only going to pay around 50 bucks monthly which can prevent you from taking thousands from your pocket during this kind of emergency.
