Happy Belated Birthday and Goodbye to Uncle Samy
Samy to stay on as MIC chief
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, who crashed to a shock defeat in the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat, will continue as the MIC president and restructure and rebuild the party.
In a statement, he said he was not feeling unhappy but reminded the MIC members that they were in a very challenging period. - Star
After sitting so comfortably in his parliamentary seat for Sungai Siput and as a minister since 1979, he lost with great humiliation to his competitor Dr D Jeyakumar for the first time with a vote different of 1820++. He knew the Indians were not happy with him, but he was stubborn and doesn’t want to accept the reality.
While I was back in my Hometown Taiping to vote, I have heard people saying that he is campaigning so aggressively on his territory for the first time. He bought 300 brand new Motorcycles for the Orang Asli and regained jewelries from pawnshops for local Indians there. Still he was not able to capture their support. Why?
Indians has been very loyal to him and MIC for a very long time. While I was in my hometown, I was told by my parents that long ago, he urged Indians in Taiping to invest money to buy a piece of land there. He mentioned that it would be a good investment. My parents invested too. Once he bought the land, after few months he returned their money without any dividend. What happens if he took a loan from a bank? Could he do that? However, my parents and other Indians just kept quiet. This is just an example from my own family. There are too many scandals out there. Did he performed his duty to serve his community or he merely used the power to accumulate wealth for himself and his family?
In one of his interview recently, he mentioned that the MIC and the Indian Community are like Husband and Wife. He told the press that MIC is playing the role of wife on taking care of the household matters while the husband has no rites to question the wife. What kind of Husband and wife relationship is that? Do any Indians around the world practice this ideology? I laughed after watching the interview. I am not from any political background nor I’m well versed in political knowledge, but I just could not accept his statement, which was so ironic. It was so immature to give such a statement.
I will never say he has done nothing to the community; he has done too little to our community. All the while, Indians has garner support to him because most of us were politically blind. HINDRAF has opened every Indians eyes and all the stories, which use to be told by MIC have to be relevant from now onwards. Don’t simply come with an ideology and aspect us to accept.
We, Malaysian Indians think, its time for you to move. You have done a good job and its time for you to retire. Give chance to the young talents to serve the community. That will be the wise move you can make at the moment. Don’t lose face anymore. Happy Belated Birthday and Goodbye Uncle Sam. Tata…

What has happened to the Maika shares? We are holding worthless pieces of paper. Was not the aim 20 years ago to get 3% equity for the Indians then.
Now we are told to invest in unit trusts…I did and once the money was paid up the price went down, and is still down after 10 years, and the price is at about 40 sen only,so keep it and hope fo returns or sell at a loss.
Dear bros and sisters be careful these are seasoned cheaters and they do not care for you.
